Domain on ubuntu?

Good day, I want to raise a domain in a local network on free hardware, there is ubuntu 10.04 working as a proxy on squid, I want to raise a domain and blood pressure on it, tell me a good manual on this case (in Russian) (and is it really possible at all to implement this)
ps with *nix systems I'm on “you”, the proxy was raised by means of smoking mana and installing Webmin for quick configuration via the web interface.

Just like your order made a wonderful distribution kit Linux Directory Server

Calculate Directory Server (CDS) is a free distribution that is an LDAP server for centralized storage of user settings, applications, and access rights in a single network storage.
CDS can successfully replace Windows NT Server ® (with support for Windows clients) and provide additional services: LDAP, DNS, PROXY, Mail, FTP, Jabber and many others that can be deployed in minutes.

It's really simple and fast.

Yeah, probably which turns Home into Pro. Samba cannot emulate a PDC, it can only become part of an existing domain, the domain will turn out to be incomplete without it.

samba 2.x could already act as a PDC for an NT domain, integrate with LDAP (resource storage) and Kerberos (authorization). key for XP set the checkbox in the authorization method settings.

if there is money for Windows pro / business on clients, maybe there will be a server on the server? in any case, the solution will be much easier to install and better!
