Doesn't Upwork fool anyone by any chance? - maybe I misunderstood?

According to the documents that the freelancer-IP receives, the customer of his services is Upwork, and the Freelancer does nothing for the Client.
According to the Invoice, which the customer receives, the executor is the Freelancer, and the customer is the Client.
I am missing something in these documents. Why does the Freelancer work on Upwork for some documents, and Client for others?

There are 2 versions of documents.
The old one is where Upwork is everywhere
and the
new one is where the client is.
Half of your documents are old and half are new.
