Does WINDOWS 10 need an antivirus?

I use Windows 10, as far as I understand, it has a built-in Windows Defender antivirus.
Does it make sense to install any free antivirus (Avast, Kaspersky, Aviga...)?
That is, it will increase the level of security or only reduce performance?
P.S. only free antiviruses are considered!

I use Avast, it does not affect performance, periodically swears at malware from some sites. In addition to the anti-virus, it makes sense to periodically check with anti-trojans (Spybot Search and detroy and / or analogues), have unchecky installed, a head on your shoulders and fresh backups that are not mounted to the system.

Complex issue. Let me list the cases in which an antivirus is needed.
So, if the following categories have access to your computer on a permanent basis - install an antivirus :
- Inexperienced cross-handed users (you can list yourself among them);
- Children (especially gifted and not so);
- Coolhackers, specialists and other charlatans (like me).
If you:
- Download torrents and other pirates on a regular basis;
- Go to the left sites;
- I have no idea what viruses are and how to remove them -
If you are just afraid that the computer will not turn on and the like - similarly, install an antivirus .
Strictly speaking, WD does not have proactive protection, its role is played by SmartScreen, with which things are not so good. Yes, they will save you from serious threats (as well as the underestimated UAC, by the way), but it is difficult to call it a full-fledged protection.
Departing a little from the topic, I will quote you the phrase that has become a classic
in short, how useful an antivirus is is up to you. But ... I still recommend putting it on . The reason is simple - let the antivirus crash 100500 times, but at least once it will find a virus that you miss.

If you're taking risks while surfing the Internet, look to Comodo and their browser.
There are a lot of free ones to look for testing.
If you are behind a router or use trusted sites, then the built-in one is enough.
