In the tax office of my region, where information about PSN is indicated, there is a line:
"Provision of services (performance of work) for the development of computer programs and databases (software and information products of computer technology), their adaptation and modification;"
That is, in fact, you can apply a patent.
But I read somewhere that a patent kind of ties an entrepreneur to his region and you only need to work there.
How does this work in general?
Do I need to go through currency control?
UPD and most importantly - is it possible to provide services via the Internet? After all, in theory, you need to work only in your region ...

I called the tax office just with a question about this type of activity.
In Moscow (where I live) a patent costs 300k, in the region (where it is registered) it costs 23k. That is, the tax burden would be reduced.
But, the concept of "I conduct activities through the Internet" introduced them into a stupor.
In principle, since all current accounts are in one region, but are registered in another, it is obvious that you are doing business where the accounts are.
The inspector advised to stay on the USN, which I did.

OKVED 72.2 is in the federal law. But the patent system is governed by local laws, ie. it is necessary that this okved be registered in the law of your region/territory/republic. I have the Samara region, I also thought it could be delicious to switch to the patent system, but the last law related to it was 2013, when 72.2 was not yet in the federal law. So I'm in flight. Perhaps your situation is different.
Currency control does not cancel this, but in some cases it can extremely significantly reduce the tax burden.
