Does MonoDeveloper develop on Linux?

Forced to move to ASP.NET and C# at work, but I don't want to leave Linux, is there any way to stay on Linux, can I use MonoDeveloper and is it developing?
Maybe there is some other solution? Tell me please :(

Of course, MonoDevelop is developing (There are only old versions in the repositories), now they are much more focused on smartphones / tablets (xamarin) and, as far as I know, gtk# is used for desktop applications (Only partial support up to version 2.20)

thanks for answers. what about free software? a lot of free and good software on Linux? I wanted to stay with Linux, not fundamentally with free software...
