I use css variables and they are not supported in IE-11 and below,
so is there any point in writing this meta tag then

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">

and if so, which one?

Describe this line in more detail and logically (possibly with code and screenshots), otherwise the Incry error.
About variables: It's up to you, the most adequate support for them is in chrome and fox.
