Does it make sense to learn English through songs?

I listen to a lot of music, and often before traveling in transport I simply turn on the translation of a song (on some website) and listen to dozens of tracks in this way, reading the original and the translation at the same time.
Will this make sense or is it better to do something more useful?

No. In songs, there is too often specific, author's slang and pronunciation that you will not find in ordinary speech, as well as grammatical errors - incl. in songs composed by native speakers .

This can be useful for expanding vocabulary. Learn foreign language. better in the format of audio courses, although they alone are not enough either.

It seems to me more useful to watch series/movies in English.
I reviewed the whole Big Bang Theory in English - now I can’t look in Russian translation, in English it’s much more interesting, it’s better to stop once again, look into the dictionary.
In the case of a film, visual memory works, and this is very important, you see what actions people perform and what words they accompany - hence the action-word bundles appear, I don’t presume to say anything, but I think that this is how children learn the language initially

It is better to perceive speech by ear, listening (viewing) the same thing several times until you begin to understand. First, without translation - if you really want to, look for what you hear in the dictionary, but do not take the finished text until there is hope to figure it out yourself. I taught myself speaking from films, watching each of my five or so videocassettes about ten times :) now I listen to audiobooks for practice, but here you need to know the language quite well.

You need to learn everything, you need grammar, you need to understand the full meaning of phrases, you need listening. Teach diversified, music is like one of the listening methods, but it will not be enough. And again, it all depends on the songs, for the sake of rhyme, they can distort the language.

Try Scorpions , the lyrics are very simple and the songs are beautiful.
But speaking English takes practice. If you are fond of any online games (for example, eveonline), fill up with English speakers in the TS. British and American pronunciation for starters, on the pros - talk with Australians, they generally have porridge and speak quickly, but after them “plain English” is understandable :)

If you need grammar (you are going to speak/write correctly), it is best to learn English with a teacher.
If you need to hang your tongue (in order to speak more freely) - it is best to learn by communicating with natives.
To learn to understand quickly and well - watch movies.
And the songs are good for expanding the understanding of abstractions, allusions, and wordplay.
