Does it make sense to buy a monitor with USB Type-C?

If you discard the options for connecting a laptop to a monitor and connecting a monitor to a PC video card.
I would like to hear "for" / "against" and alternative uses for such a connector in the monitor.

You connect the monitor via Type-C and get:

  • Laptop starts charging
  • The image is transferred to the monitor
  • The sound is also transmitted to the speakers connected to the monitor (if any)
  • USB flash drive, keyboard and mouse plugged into the monitor start working

And all this on one cable!
Otherwise, when setting up a workstation, you need to use 3+ cables for everything (USB for keyboard / mouse, HDMI for monitor, charging cable)
