Does GameDev exist in HTML5/JS?

One colleague wrote on one forum and I wanted to know the opinion of the toaster:
Greetings! I have been writing on Sharp under Unity3D for several years in one of the Ukrainian game offices and everything would have been building for me if it weren’t for money, at one time I deliberately went into the gaming industry because I love graphics, games and any graphic content and don’t like the web , while knowing that they don’t pay a lot of money there, but let’s face it, getting 350 bucks is no longer fun for me and, having gone through interviews, I realized that it’s not good enough because the average salary offer is 500, and where more (in the region of 1000) or a project ** apparently or require more knowledge of UE and C ++.
I decided to go in another direction, having studied the labor market, I realized that front-end / javascript “rules” very much now, and here the main question immediately arises: is WebGL, Blend4Web or the like in demand now to work with graphics on the client? Igrostroy on JS'e/client is in demand? Colleagues, help us move to an interesting, demanded, well-paid future?

At the moment, Flash rules the game industry for the web (yes, yes, the very Flash that dies everywhere, but it still won’t die). HTML5 / JS game development in its background is simply lost. But nevertheless, there are positive moments. Modern "evergreen" browsers are developing rapidly, technologies are being tested, more and more new test and demo projects are appearing.
But in fact, the platform is still raw, and cross-browser compatibility is still far from ideal. But, if you're aiming for the future, then why not, all signs point to the fact that sooner or later the game maker on the web will abandon flash.
