Does DNS work differently in modem/router and connection settings?

Hello.
I'm very interested in whether the DNS specified in the modem / router settings differs from the DNS specified in the connection settings directly in the OS itself?
I have dynamic IP addresses in my modem / router in the network settings, as well as DNS. I registered in the network settings (Wi-Fi) DNS from Yandex . Will they work in this case, or still register them in the modem / router?

If you get DNS over Wi-Fi automatically - they will be the same as in the router, but if you override them - local ones will be used, the router settings will be ignored and will not affect anything.
That is, you do not need to change anything in the router.
