Do you need Photoshop?

As soon as I started studying web design, I looked at convenient programs and chose Figma for myself. Since I don’t layout my projects yet, do I need to learn Photoshop, because on Freelance, almost everyone asks for a layout in PSD? Or how to be? After Figma, it is very difficult to work in Photoshop.

About 10% of PS knowledge is enough to create web interfaces.
Regarding freelancing, there are a couple of options: 1 - the designer sets his own rules (layout in Sketch / PS / XD / Figma / Studio), 2 - the designer adapts to the requirements of the customer.
And so, it is best to discuss the type of required layout with a layout designer / web technologist.

We say "work with design" we mean the use of Photoshop.
We say Photoshop means working with design.

Figma is a great tool for designers and layout designers. After figma, I don’t want to make up from Photoshop at all.
In our office, all designers work through Figma and do not know grief :)
Try to explain to the customer that there are tools besides Photoshop, and it will be really easier and faster to make up with Figma.
If it doesn't help, then you'll still have to learn.

I think it’s necessary. I went to web design courses at the university, where Photoshop and html were considered in close conjunction. It’s not complicated, but it will come in handy in the future. So you say you shouldn't use Photoshop for layouts, and so on. The truth is that most designers in web studios and freelancers use Photoshop to create layouts.
There is always a requirement for layout designers: to be able to cut a PSD layout. Yes, it may not be the ideal tool for creating layouts, but it is used.

Photoshop for web design has it all, you just need to know where this tool is and that's it, there is nothing to learn if you only need it for web design. But if you want to do photo processing, graphic design, then no program has replaced Photoshop yet.
