I am a full stack developer, do employers expect me to be a designer as well?

Actually a subject. If you are a Front End or Full Stack developer, can you also design the app layout?

List the list of employers about which the question is. If you are talking about your current one, then you tell us whether it is expected or not, but judging by the question, it is expected and you do not like it.

It's strange that you're wondering, but yes, I can. But it’s normal to design something - no.
PS. If they want to develop a layout from you - the way out is extremely simple - take a bootstrap and sculpt everything from standard components. A front-end developer should be able to create an interface for a task without an image, using a text description or a wireframe.
But for the tasks “you need to somehow draw better to make it beautiful”, you answer, it’s a great idea, I also think that it looks somehow clumsy, but do you want it to be really cool when we hire a designer?

This is discussed during the interview. I clearly know my weaknesses and clearly speak about it right away. If the employer plans to use you in these areas, immediately close this issue.
In the West, as a rule, specialists are narrowly focused, but here we are used to the fact that if a programmer, he can fix a laptop and figure out why the Word does not open. Therefore, it is better to talk about it right away: "I'm not a designer, I can compress the picture in Photoshop, but no more"
