Do "secure" DNS services make sense?

A large number of different DNS servers have bred on the Internet, some provide protection against phishing and any virus or parental control, the question is, does such a number of different services make sense if, in the end, they can still be easily bypassed by changing dns in the settings?

The service is just designed for the fact that you will change your dns to theirs, and not the reverse behavior.
