Do I understand the operation of the MAX4896 chip correctly?

I re-read the MAX4896 datasheet several times, until I understood everything ... it’s clear how to control it, but it’s not entirely clear what exactly it opens?
That is, it is written that if the OUT[0-7] pin is active, then it is connected to PGND, and if not, then it goes like Z.
Is it possible to connect power + to PGND, and connect devices to OUT pins that will have to receive food or not?
Here there are 8 devices of 5v each, and here just 8 pins are ideal, it’s not clear just where to throw the common plus .... maybe I misunderstood the essence of the chip? It turns out that all 8 negative power outputs of the devices are twisted together and connected to - power, and the pluses are thrown through the chip and PGND to the power plus ...?

Connect all minuses supplying controlled devices to PGND, connect controlled devices on one side to the pluses of their sources and on the other side to OUT[0-7].
No, because current in OUT[0-7] can only flow in.
