Do I need to turn on vertical sync with G-Sync?

I have a monitor with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, but still some games pass this threshold and give out in the region of 200-300 fps.
Do I need to enable vsync with G-Sync enabled if I just want to lock fps to 144 and will that add input lag?

PS Sometimes G-sync locks FPS on its own at 144, and sometimes it doesn't.

So the very essence of G-sync is to synchronize the frame rate in the cards and the frame rate of the monitor, and if you have 300 fps, then g-sync is not enabled in the control panel or you are synchronizing every second frame. Although if the game always has 200+, then we turn on v-sync and don’t bother

Sometimes G-sync locks fps on its own, and sometimes it doesn't.

It works for me, too, somehow.
Turn on v-sync it won't hurt.

V-sync is always useful, because it doesn't make sense to torture the video card and squeeze out more fps than the monitor can display, it just doesn't make sense.
