Do I need to pin the site header on mobile devices?

Hello. In modern sites, is it worth pinning the header to the top so that it is always in sight? I do not like this trend, but colleagues say that this is the right thing to do. The header height is 50px.

In my opinion, it is only necessary if there is some important information there, for example, the shopping cart of an online store, in other cases, it eats up a small amount of space.

Such headers always annoy me, because they usually reduce the speed of redrawing the screen when scrolling and the page looks sluggish. IMHO enough in the upper right or lower corner of the button with two or three horizontal stripes or dots, which will open the top or side right navigation bar.

50 px is not a problem, but if there are clickable elements on it, 50 px is not enough

If desired, you can hide the header when scrolling down and show it when scrolling up.

It depends on what you have in the header, if the menu, then you need it. I have on one site, there is a loose menu, people go, scroll right there below, and then they don’t understand what to do next, how to go where. Therefore, I recommend fixing at least the menu icon so that it is not visible, but rather a whole strip with the name of a section or page.
