Rejoice: all this junk is not needed on Linux. The software is installed through the package manager and removed correctly through it. There is no global registry type dump. Antivirus is needed only on a mail or samba server in an organization with Windows machines.

tl;dr
It is a mistake to think that Linux is completely protected from malware. There are many examples of infection of various network infrastructures and exploitation of Linux systems .
The key to the security of any OS is timely updates of its components and software installed on it, eliminating vulnerabilities in them.
From the point of view of connecting a computer to a network, a firewall (firewall) is designed to protect the system from unauthorized access at the level of network ports and protocols. If communication between software on a computer and the outside world is authorized by a firewall at the protocol level, then nothing prevents remote software from trying to exploit vulnerabilities in installed software. And if some hole is found, the Trojan will be installed without the knowledge of the user and will be able to perform malicious functions: become a "soldier" in the army of bots, steal data, etc.
Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I know, the antivirus in Linux does not have the authority to interfere with the work of running software, it performs purely the functions of manually scanning files for infection, say, when opening letters in an email client.
Thus, the main function of protecting the system is performed by the Linux kernel - in terms of access to memory areas and starting processes.
I advise you to read the material on the advisability of using an antivirus in Linux in English. or machine translation into Russian .

  1. Install Linux distributions only from ISO images downloaded from official sites. An overview of known distributions can be found at http://distrowatch.com
  2. Do not ignore the system's suggestions to update the installed software, but do the update as soon as possible.
  3. Install software only through the system's package manager (Synaptic, etc., depends on the distribution).
  4. It is not recommended to install software through source codes, for the reason that this procedure is fraught with problems both with building the necessary packages and in terms of security. Firstly, installation in a regular package manager is done through proven sources-repositories. Secondly, any vulnerability fixes come only through the regular update system in the form of an alert. And the compiled packages from the sources need to be rebuilt and installed with the appearance of each vulnerability. Any slowdown poses a risk of operating the system.

Linux is not yet so popular that viruses for it multiply in the average user. The probability of infection is too small, and it will eat resources actively.
The cleaning program is not needed anywhere if the user thinks before installing anything and removes it using the correct uninstalls. If you put everything in a row all the time, without hesitation, cleaning programs will not save you. Well, in Linux they are not needed, everything is done there through rm -rf or the package manager. There is no registry, and extra files on the disk do not slow down the system.

No antivirus is required for home use.
I don't know of any such software for Linux.
You don't need any of this.

For the average user:
1. You need to have a brain!
2. Make a backup!
3. Do not conduct financial transactions: buying or paying for something, for all this there is VirtualBox + with some thread of a newly delivered system. When you decided to pay for something, copied the files of the virtual machine, launched and paid for it
4. Hate working as root, but love sudo
5. At the slightest suspicion, restore from a backup
You don’t need a lot of brains, just a little, and no virus is terrible

Cleaning the system is not needed in Windows either.

An antivirus is either not needed or will not help.
Depending on whether Wine is installed and able to run is not what you had in mind.
Encryption trojans, for example, work under Wine without problems...
