Do I need a server for an online store with an SSL certificate?

Hello.
We have an online store on a regular hosting. The simplest. Site on Bitrix.
Now we connect the payment system, it requires an SSL certificate. They took the certificate, but
the hosting support service says that in order to install SSL, you need to switch to another service.
Server required. In addition, they say that on the server with an increase in attendance and requests, it will be more comfortable.
Actually the question is simple. Do we really need a server. The issue is not money, but necessity.
Tell me please. Share your experience. Get a server?

In my opinion, in 2016, hosting something on shared sites is disrespectful, at least to yourself.

Formally, you can not change anything and use a service like CloudFlare , the free plan is enough for you.
In reality, wherever there is real money, it is better to use a dedicated server for security reasons.

no, to be honest, I have not met a single shared hosting where it would be impossible to install your own certificate
, it seems you are being fooled, well, if you are not a master of setting up a server, then you will not get any pluses from it except for hemorrhoids

A virtual server is enough, which will not be much more expensive than the average shared hosting tariff. The expediency of this is quite justified. Shared hosting is a completely ready-made space for hosting household sites without the possibility of fine-tuning the site environment. The server with the help of specialists allows, among other things, to add support for certificates, which, apparently, cannot be done by default with your hosting provider.
Some hosters, by the way, allow you to add a certificate on a regular shared hosting.

Your hosting is weird. Typically, users have the option to add a certificate for a domain.

The server is safer, but who will configure it?
