Do I need a kit to install an SSD on a laptop?
Hello. I want to replace my 500gb HDD on a Lenovo G50-70 laptop with a 240gb SSD. And there are a couple of questions about this:
1. SSDs (in particular the KINGSTON-SSDNow UV400 that I want to buy) are sold with or without an installation kit. And I, since I don’t know much about this, I can’t understand if I need an installation kit? The price difference is 25 euros. All the videos about installing an SSD say nothing about this. They only say that a screwdriver, etc.
But do I really need this kit?
2. I have a Windows 10 license on the HDD. I know that licenses cannot be transferred, but as a temporary solution, immediately after replacing the disk with an SSD, can I put the hard disk in a special box and connect it to the computer via USB so that it immediately boots into Windows?
Thanks in advance for your replies!

If you have an SSD like in the picture, no adapters are needed, it is already in the case for installation in place of a 2.5 "HDD . If you do not use a DVD drive, buy an adapter for installing an HDD - just specify the thickness of the drive, they are 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm. In Lenovo often puts thin ones, put the SSD in place of the HDD, and put it in an adapter. You can transfer the entire system with the free AOMEI Partition Assistant program, along with all the hidden recovery partitions and drivers.
Do I need a kit to install an SSD on a laptop? Not needed.
You can also put an adapter on hdd / ssd instead of a drive, then you will have an ssd, and you won’t have to remove the hdd.

Yes, USB bootable
I have a license key sewn into UEFI on my laptop, most likely.
With a similar operation (when buying a laptop, I bought an SSD separately and installed it right away), the Windows downloaded from the ms site picked up the license automatically.
the kit is needed for installation in the system unit, since the ssd is narrower than a regular hdd,
open the laptop and see how you have a hard disk installed there,
you can simply copy
