Do different DAWs sound different?

There was a strong feeling that in Ableton Live samples from the browser and in the main windows are played dimly somehow desaturated chtoli, unlike the same Fruity Loops where everything sounds fatter. Is this so, and what is the essence of tax? Who fumbles? Thank you.
