Do any materials added to the project (models, textures, etc.) need to be stored next to the project file?

Hey!

Do any materials added to the project (models, textures, etc.) need to be stored next to the project file?
That is, in the * .blend file, any material placed into it (into the scene) is not “archived” in it, but is taken from an external source? So?

There are three ways.
1. Absolute link to the file. In this case, the resource can lie at least on another disk.
2. Relative link to the file. The resource lies inside the project folder or in subfolders.
3. Sewing into the scene. The resource is inside the .blend file. File -> External data -> Pack all into .blend will pack all used resources inside. Convenient when you need to transfer a file to someone.
