DNS server on the local network. Setting up caching. Is there any reason?
Good afternoon.
I am reading now about setting up a linux-based router. I came across an interesting topic like setting up a caching DNS server.
So far, there is no way to conduct an experiment in practice, but in a virtual machine I think the difference will not be visible.
The question is, does it make sense to "fence" your cache server in a small local network for 20-25 computers.
Will there be an increase and any advantage if it is online. I know that Windows itself caches mapping entries there, but it is the cache server inside the locale that is interesting.
