DNS on the local network when accessing the gateway?

Hello.
Suppose there is a network 192.168.1.0
there is a host 1.10
there is dns 1.1 and 1.2
there is a gateway to the Internet (in the form of a router) 1.8
So, do you need to register local dns to go online? The domain is up.

Not necessary.
dns is needed solely for resolving domain names. In an Internet it is possible to leave at once on aypishnikam.
Therefore, you can register any dns server, for example, google public dns, and it is not necessary to raise local DNS servers.
If you want to use exactly the local dns servers - then register and use, but they must be configured.

yes, only forwarder
must be specified on 1.1 and 1.2, for example 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.4
the essence of the forwarder: ask external dns for everything that does not apply to local zones
