DNS: how to add .test records?
Good afternoon!
I can't figure out how to implement the following:
There is a 10.0.1.1/24 subnet, which has both computers and servers, and which use 8.8.8.8 as dns.
I would like computers within the network to access local servers by name, not by ip. (for example: demoserver.test), but at the same time, so that all other dns requests are sent to 8.8.8.8.
I understand that you will need your own dns server (bind), the only question is how to configure it correctly? Please help with advice.
Thank you!

In general, some routers can do this, it is enough to make records like host-ip in the DNS zone and when accessing this name, a response from the local DNS will be immediately given, look first in this direction.
If we are talking about 5 PCs, write a pancake in the hosts on the PC and don't worry.
Dhcp gives a list of dns servers in order of priority. You pick in this direction) for example, in our company, the domain controller along the way also distributes its dns, and the secondary controller duplicates it just in case
