DLNA client for iPad?
Good day to all.
Now I am setting up a centralized media content server at home that will work via DLNA. For this I use Ubuntu Server 12.10 and minidlna. On the TV (Samsung smart TV 6 series) everything works great, but the only (at least in a stupid search on the app store) program on the iPad that I found - 8 player - shamelessly slows down.
Has anyone tried to use the iPad in a similar bundle? What was used for this?
Thanks in advance.

Good evening.
I suffered with DLNA for a long time (it works on TV, macbooks, on the iPad - either not at all, or almost not), I tried various applications.
The situation was complicated by the fact that the daughter mainly uses the iPad, and she cannot be explained that “only these files” can be viewed.
As a result, I bought AirPlayer - itunes.apple.com/ru/app/airplayer/id369713694?mt=8
I don't regret it at all.
Tried a lot, most are buggy.
As a result, we settled on flex:player in conjunction with media:connect for DLNA access.
Makes the same office, paid. Seems to be working well.
Does FullHD slow down on it? It seems to be said that
Supported video formats: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second
Apple has NAT-PMP and Bonjour, Microsoft has UPnP. Apple has DAAP, Microsoft has DLNA. Not Invented Here, just as always.
Install Firefly Media Server and distribute music via normal DAAP.
If DAAP won't start on iPad, there was a patch for Firefly .
There is a Linux distribution for media servers, Amahi , which has both DAAP and DLNA servers
