Direct battery charging?
Such a misfortune, I’m in the hospital and the charging socket on the phone was covered, I tore off the plug of the wire on the charger and connected it to the terminals to which the battery is connected in the phone, I picked up the battery.
Everything is fine, charging has started (it is possible to check the change in battery charge by disconnecting the battery and rebooting the phone), the battery is charged up to 98%.
Actually the question is, what will happen if you leave the whole thing on charge at 100% battery charge?

as a rule, the batteries have a built-in charge controller, so it will charge and work, but there is a danger of the battery exploding.
I don’t know how things are with them now, but I used to charge a couple of batteries in this way, and didn’t notice anything terrible right away. They were quite used, from dead phones, but they were quite suitable for a flashlight
. At the same time, the built-in controller stopped charging at a certain level, and with a strong discharge, it also stopped planting further.
It’s hard to say how much such protection allows you to abuse the battery outside of normal operation and will affect the resource, but it doesn’t seem to explode :)
