Differences between centos 8 and its forks?

What is the difference between the original (from redhat) and the forks (Rocky/Alma/Oracle) of other brands?

Are there any differences in the internals, or did they just rebrand and add support?

The differences are mainly in repositories and third-party scripts that check the OS version.

They have slightly different turnips, and the software is different.

Why is everyone so mad about this Centos? What was so special that could happen there to worry about? Many people use a fashionable distribution kit in production, built on an unstable version of the Debian kernel, where new untested, raw, not really tested chips are shoved. And then, with foam up to the mustache, they prove that it's cool.
The current state of affairs with Centos is caused by fashion trends with imminent releases and updates. There is a potential danger that something under-tested or not fully tested can get into the release. But where is it not? Tell that to the people who run their production on Gentoo, or on some of their patched kernels. Did your application crash in Ubuntu after updating due to a version conflict?
