Didn't install grub after apt-get upgrade?

On Ubuntu 14.04 did apt-get update/upgrade. In the course of work, a grub installation dialog box appeared. The content of it was about the same as in this question on SO serverfault.com/questions/568064/how-to-configure-... .
First, I selected all the disks, a confirm message came out with a rather scary text like "Do you understand exactly what you are doing?", so I canceled this action and did not select any options on the first window. Then there was also some kind of message, like "You didn't choose anything, we left everything as it is, but your server may not load anymore." Then clicked OK.
Actually the question is, does it threaten me with anything? Now the server is working fine, but I have not tried to reboot yet, I'm afraid that it really won't get up. If I did something bad, how can I fix it?

The bootloader itself has not gone anywhere. If it was on your disk, it will remain there, but in the old version. It is possible that with the update a new one arrived. If the kernel was updated, then the configuration file with the kernels should have been updated when this package was installed.

grub is the bootloader.
You simply did not update it in the boot area of the disk. Nothing terrible, in theory, happened. Yes, there is a possibility that your server will not be able to boot, but in practice this does not happen often.
Here is an excellent article on the bootloader from the forum,
look at which disk you have the boot partition and / (root partition)
Most likely the bootloader is on it.
Well, you can look in the BIOS - from which disk the boot is being loaded.
