There is a print server without a monitor, but with a keyboard running Ubuntu. I connected a scanner to it.
Just through scanimage I can scan via ssh. But soon vacation, others do not know how to use the console.
There is a task: how to operate the scanner through "hot keys". Type, pressed the key "1" - chose the black and white mode, or on "2" - color, then on "3" - scanning (simply, according to the permissions set in the config). After scanning all the pages, press "0" - and save is in progress (multi-page PDF).
Question: how to turn it into a demon (service, service)? Klava (input) is known to be disabled in the demon. And I can't get attached to the graphics, there is no Monica. Target selected - multu-user.target.
Peculiarities:hardware - PC (or Rasberry), keyboard, scan ricoh sp150su. OS is ubuntu.

Perhaps it is worth making an autologin and making icons with shortcuts on the desktop. Can you write everything you need in scripts?
