Deflection of the laptop lid, the norm or marriage?

A couple of days ago I bought a laptop (Dell inspiron 5370) and just noticed that when you press the center of the lid there is a slight deflection, I took a closer look, and the surface of the lid is really uneven, please tell me, is this a marriage or a normal phenomenon? Of course, I don’t understand this, but will the matrix be fine with such a “feature”?

A little flex is basically normal, because for rigidity you would have to make the lid thicker, and this would make the laptop thicker overall.
The lid bends due to rubber (or plastic) blotches on the lid next to the screen.
In short, everything is fine.

deflection up to 3-5 mm is the norm.
The matrix in the lid is screwed with loops around the perimeter, and the center is freely "stretched" between them, and is not connected to the lid. Between the matrix and the lid, there is generally a gap with air and, often, with a thin "soft layer". This is a margin for shock / pressure. That is, the lid itself is independently folded. And the thickness of the glass layers in the matrix will allow it to bend by 3 millimeters without harm. In short, this is the norm, especially for modern ultrabooks with minimal thicknesses of everything.
But I don’t recommend specifically jumping on the lid or pressing :)
