Dedicated vs Cloud. What to choose?

Good evening.
I was faced with the choice of renting equipment. What you need: a photo site with 2000 uniques, 30-40K page views, photos on average 350-600 kb, content weight at the moment is about 12 gigs.
Question: what will be cheaper to rent a dedicated server in Hetzner, or transfer everything to the cloud on a virtual machine. By configuration in any case Nginx + Apache

Hetzner, although if it’s a legal entity, it’s not very clear how to pay there ...

40 kits is not much. Even a VPS will pull this, although with an abundance of static it can sag on the disk, but you can’t guess, it also depends on the neighbors. Dedik can digest even the weakest configuration without choking. And even in principle it will be idle most of the time.
With the cloud, the problem is that you need to properly configure it for your needs, so that the resources do not stand idle in vain, but also do not slow down. The ambush is that until you come to the optimal config, you will have to spend money, and obviously more than in the case of buying a Dedik. At least that's how it works in practice. Personally, I prefer to keep a dedik and pay a fixed amount per month, this allows me to accurately plan my budget.
By the way, you should think about buying a Dedik with either or placement with friends if such an opportunity. It will definitely be the cheapest option.

On AWS, I think the cost will be around $100. The cloud makes sense to consider if in the near future you need the ability to quickly scale.
