Debugging android apps in IntelliJ IDEA?

Actually, debugging / launching applications does not work. I did the simplest example as described here
After starting, I see the waiting window "Waiting for ADB", then an error pops up: ADB not responding. Please, kill "adb.exe" process manually and click 'Retry'.
Manually killing the process does nothing.

What version of IntelliJ IDEA do you have? In version 11, this error has already been fixed.

have you tried restarting adb server as a different user? In general, from whom and with what rights does the server and idea start?
