Debian and Crunchbang
Hello!
For the last half a year I had Ubuntu 13.10 and over the last half a year it fell 2 times so that I couldn’t pick it up, lost the necessary (and not so) files, and somehow I got tired of all this, I wanted something more stable for my laptop , started to google and google gave out linux mint, but he did it on Ubuntu and therefore I don’t even want to consider it + I want to go a little deeper into linux for more comfortable work and just for myself, so to speak, broaden my horizons and knowledge.
Decided to try Debian, because. a reliable stable system, I have a little experience with Debian (I set up a server in the cloud on Debian Wheezy to develop a site) and when I already wanted to start the installation I came across Crunchbang and actually wanted to ask knowledgeable people -
As I understand it, Crunchbang is Debian stable in which Openbox and tint2 are installed out of the box (which I planned to install anyway) and by installing Crunchbang I just save myself from installing and configuring Openbox and tint2 and get the same Debian stable or am I mistaken and this is something more ?:)

Yes. Debian with Openbox, tint2 and a set of their chips to create an almost complete DE. Previously, Crunhbang was based on Ubuntu and was quite good. There is every reason to believe that the switch to Debian did him good.
Linux Mint also has a version ( LMDE ) based on Debian
