Data centers and equipment?
There is a desire in the foreseeable future to place their equipment in some data center. I have not yet decided whether I will buy a new server, buy a second-hand one, or even assemble it myself. How do data centers (in particular, in the Moscow region) relate to used or self-made equipment? Can they refuse placement or not?

It is better to take a good VPS. When its resources, due to high attendance, will not be enough, then there will certainly be funds for a good server :) There are sellers with a good guarantee and repair on site - this has saved me more than once.
It seems to me that drawing a certificate is not so difficult, the self-propelled gun is still made on the basis of some kind of platform.
Basically, self-assembly is bad. There are many places where you need a certificate (the so-called PCT).
Host-Telecom
treats you normally, they will deliver it. But the risks, of course, are yours.
It’s easier to order branded Supermicro from them and immediately put it on the colo, the prices are excellent.
We are fine if everything is assembled with straight hands.
In practice, there was a case about 10 years ago, when the server began to smoke, everything was self-made there with refinement with a file, saw, chewing gum and cardboard. This will not work for us. Since then, when we receive each server, we inspect and inside - we ask you to remove the cover.
