Custom domain name for users of your project?

How to organize for users the ability to register an A-record for their domain (DNS server) the way it is organized by tumblr or any other service with similar functionality? I understand how to do it manually, but if there are thousands of users?

Find a DNS hoster with an API and automatically create it using the API with a script.

Yandex has a DNS API: api.yandex.ru/pdd/doc/api-pdd/reference/api-dns.xml
Or you can raise your own DNS
But users will have to delegate domains to your DNS or Yandex DNS.

If you're talking about the ability to give users subdomains on your own domain, ie. like username.example.com, a DNS wildcard entry can help .
