Cups prints a lot of text (@pjl), how to fix?
Hello, I have a PC running Ubuntu server 14.04 with a Samsung ML-2165W printer connected to it.
I installed the driver for this printer on the PC, downloaded from the official Samsung website.
I installed cups, added a printer to it and selected the driver - Samsung ML-2160 Series.
From another PC added this printer over the network.
I printed a test page and was disappointed when I saw this:
[email protected] comment "Username: iliai_000"... The
photo and one square on the second page.
On the PC from which I print it costs WIN 10, I think, well, maybe this is the case, I went and tried it from another one, it costs WIN 7, everything is the same.
I put the program on the phone (Android) PrinterShare, tried to print it through it and lo and behold, everything works.
Through it, everything prints fine, but not through the PC.
I tried to install different drivers, change the settings, in the printer properties, everything is useless.
I started searching the internet for information.
Found in one place what you need:
In the file /etc/cups/mime.types write this
application/PJL contains(0,256,'@PJL JOB')
And in this file write /etc/cups/mime.convs this is
application/PJL application/vnd.cups-raw 0 -
