CUPS and AirPrint printer, is it possible?
I have a linux computer (raspberry pi) and a printer (Canon Seplhy cp910) that supports AirPrint.
cups finds the printer, but there are no drivers for the printer. When trying to use drivers from a younger model, the printer gives an error.
The printer can also print via AirPrint, with iOS and osx it prints without installing drivers. The question was:
Can CUPS act as an AirPrint client? I found a lot of manuals on the net, where CUPS acts as a server (shares connected printers), but nothing about the client.

I solved this problem, so:
canon selphy cp910 AirPrint cups linux raspberry pi (for Google).
By itself, cups perfectly finds the printer, but there are no drivers for this particular model, although there are older ones. When trying to use similar printers, the printer gave an error. I started googling about the AirPrint protocol in general, came across the DNS-SD-Parser utility, which gives a lot of information about the printer, including the fact that the printer can simply chew on a jpg file. As a result, it turned out to send for printing simply: lpr -o raw filename.jpg
