Creating a disk image on a remote machine?

Don't offer giants like Acronix, you need a simple solution for creating disk images on remote machines on a local network on windows. In the most extreme case, it is possible to install linux and use dd, but can it remotely create an image on a working machine under win without interfering with anyone, tell me (preferably still under win solution).

I use Cobian Backup running on a schedule.
It's also free by the way.

If for backup purposes (without the ability to deploy back to disk), you can try the free Disk2vhd utility: technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/ee656415.aspx
Windows 7 can even be booted from this image.
