There are two LED screens, the player periodically crashes and the content is not played. Advise some kind of program to track movement or color in certain areas of the screen.

What does the player crash mean? if it completes its work, well, run it in an infinite loop
. I saw it done in some bus, if the ad broadcast application crashed, it rebooted (there was stupid gentoo, even the picture was not inserted, there was a clean linux log), it took 30 seconds to reboot (I believe this was the hardware problem).
ps it is not necessary to try to monitor the screen exactly, a working player has a typical load on the processor and disk, if it changes a lot for a long time - here is your signal to restart.
