Connecting MacBook Pro early2017 (Usb c) to Samsung Syncmaster (DVi) monitor?

Hello! There is a problem: I can't connect a MacBook Pro 2017 (Mojave) with USB-C to a Samsung SyncMaster LR23WS monitor (DVI input). I use a USB-C -> DVI adapter, then a Dvi-Dvi cable to the monitor. The laptop detects and sees the monitor, but the monitor itself is black. On Apple's Support site, their advice didn't help. I was on English-language forums, did a reset of the monitor, took out the power cord from the monitor, used a different connection order - nothing helps. Who faced with this, tell me what could be.
Unfortunately, I can not yet test the adapter with another monitor.
