Computer from America?

It's a strange question, but still...
My parents promised one of my students to bring a computer from America. As I understand it, the price is not limited, but what does it make sense to bring from the states for a 10th grader (a little bit of programming, a little bit of 3-D, but both here and there without fanaticism).

Well, in fact, apart from the poppy, there is nothing special to carry from there. Everything else here is worth comparable prices.
And what a poppy...

IMHO, only a laptop - in the USA it will be two or three times cheaper, and it will be inexpensive to carry. The desktop (self-assembled, from standard parts) is better, and it is also cheaper than in Russia, but it will be expensive to transport it across the ocean. Yes, and “for a 10th grader okhlamon” there is not much difference.

In principle, it makes sense if you take something new, which either will not appear here soon, or just came out there ... When I got a laptop for myself like that, it cost me $ 900 on eBay, we then had analogues for 1200 $. Now there are already laptops with i5 of the second generation, and graphics better than 310m, and cheaper ...

In my humble experience, in the USA you can buy the same laptop for about a third cheaper than in Russia.
Again, in my opinion, it makes no sense to bring a desktop computer from the USA.
