Community of web studio leaders and what to read?

Hello, friends!

I have two questions:
1) I recently came across a community of IT outsourcers, and since I am the head of the SC, I joined this community and found a lot of interesting things. But the second direction of my activity is a web studio, which is just getting on its feet, but shows great promise. Maybe there are similar communities where the heads of web studios communicate in a friendly way? (The Business Studio blog on Habré is useful, but I already miss it)

2) Because. where I live with tight staff, I opted for people with no experience, but trained and willing to work. Can you recommend any reading that will be useful for the Project and Account Manager? Designer (except for Kirsanov :))? Well, me, as the head of the web studio? (7 skills, rework, Arkhangelsk, funky business and something else read)

Thank you.

What city are you from? Throw in a personal address of the studio's website, what do you do in this studio, what specialists do you have, maybe we can even cooperate - I also left outsourcing for a web studio :)

Read Tom Peters - you will gain a lot of positive. Well, for designer Robin Williams, for example, you can read, as well as the basics of composition, colors, typography and an extensive study of other people's work.

For the designer:

  1. "The Design of Everyday Things" by Donald Norman - good for starters, turns on the brain;
  2. "Psychiatric Hospital in the hands of patients" by Alan Cooper - required reading;
  3. "Interface" by Jeff Raskin - very useful for developing a different view of the state of affairs, although sometimes boring;
  4. "Web design. Elements of the Interaction Experience” by Jess Garrett is a structured, well-written material. Useful for both designers and project managers;
  5. "New Typography" by Jan Tschichold - although very controversial in places, contains a lot of interesting and useful material;
  6. About the Interface by Alan Cooper is a monumental work on interaction design and interface design, a thick book that I use as a reference.
They praise Stephen Krug, but somehow my hands did not reach her.
I also recommend reading Edward Tufte. This is the presentation guru. He does not allow translation of his materials, so his books are only in English. If you wish, you can find a little translation on the Internet.
