Choosing WI-FI - Bluetooth for a laptop?

Hi Habr!
I recently purchased a Dell Vostro 3450. After a month of use, I realized that, in principle, everything suits me, except for the WI-FI / Bluetooth adapter (It costs some kind of Atheros half pci, I don’t remember the brand, the official name is Dell Wireless 1702 802.11 b / g / n, BT3.0 +HS). It’s mainly the range that strains, where the average laptop has 2 divisions of coverage, mine just doesn’t catch the network, the maximum speed is 65Mb / s. In this regard, I decided to replace the card with something more long-range. On the dell website, 2 Intel adapters are certified for my laptop:
1. Centrino Wireless N 1030
2. Centrino Advanced N 6230
Please advise a more productive solution.

For an integrated adapter, the antenna model used is important. For laptops, it’s usually on top of the screen, that’s where the wires from the adapter go. So the level of reception depends much more on the antenna than on the adapter model. Specifically, I can’t say anything about your laptop, but in the Acer I somehow changed the regular one, to a more “advanced” one (I took it during disassembly, it looked impressive) for which there was enough space. Subjectively, the signal has become 50% -60% better.

I changed to 6230, bought on ebay. Connection 300Mbps, real speed reached 15MB/s
