Choosing msata ssd?
I want to put an ssd in my laptop. Budget 4000 r. Never dealt with them before. Is there a big difference in the speed of msata and regular sata (in a laptop hdd to sata 2, I think to deliver msata or change the main disk)? Here is what version of msata I could not find out (for sure the second one too, there will not be 2 different controllers in the laptop).
While looking at this one .
I do not use encryption, it's not critical.

Subjectively, the number of reviews with rejection messages from well-known brands is higher for ADATA, and the least (again, subjectively) for Plextor.
if there is no support for sata3 and I would not say that in this case mSATA will give some visible increase in speed.

The speed will not be maximum if there is no sata3 support and I would not say that in this case mSATA will give some visible increase in speed.
(PS Add 300 rubles. M5P is a miracle what kind of device, people tried)
It would be nice if the beech model was announced.
The main hard drive is already there and by adding a solid state drive you will get a fast OS response and capacious storage. Replacing one with the other, we get only the first, but it is a little easier and is not afraid of shaking during work. Good luck.
IMHO, the main “stupid thing” in laptop HDDs is head parking to save batteries, so even if the data transfer is at the same speed, the SSD can start transferring this data immediately after the request arrives, and the usual screw must first spin the spindle. Therefore, subjectively - the laptop becomes more responsive. This is especially noticeable at the moments of exit from sleep or hibernation. Also in games, usually everything is loaded into the RAM, but when changing locations, the screw starts to accelerate and there is a “jerk” at the border of the game zones. There are no such jerks with ssd ... And the speed of copying large files, yes, it will be about the same as with a regular hard drive.
Put an additional ssd, and be sure to rearrange the system on it. And I would leave the main one - there is not much space on laptops. even with the advent of dropboxes and skydraws.
I recommend immediately checking the ability to boot a laptop with mSata.
I’ll copy my review about the Kingston SSDNow mS200 60GB mSATA MLC SSD:
“In the Dell Inspiron 7720 laptop, I had to suffer a little with installing the OS. The fact is that in this laptop, the mSata connector turns out to be intended for installing only a caching disk into it. Firstly, I had to repartition the disk and convert it to MBR, and secondly, the laptop BIOS does not initially see mSata as a boot device. Everything was solved by installing the Windows 8 bootloader on the main hard drive with a pointer to the OS that is on the SSD. Everything works fine, but I had to dig deeper. This article helped a lot: habrahabr.ru/post/193128/ "
