Choosing between Apple iMac 21.5” 2013 or MacBook Pro 13” 2015?
Good day dear friends!
I decided to get a computer on MacOS (after I worked for some time on this system), and the question arose between the Apple iMac 21.5 "2013 ME087 and the MacBook Pro Retina MF839 13" 2015. I understand that these devices differ in purpose and type of use, however, let me explain.
I do graphic design, mainly Illustrator and Photoshop, plus FontLab. There is a clear link to the place, i.e. Mobility doesn't seem to be needed. I can both install an iMac at my workplace, and put a bunch of Pro's and my 27 "monitor. I have 100 tr to purchase. In the context of this, I'm interested in the question of which of the above should be preferred.
P.S. I have heard about the sliding anti-reflective coating on macbooks with retina, although it seems like the users did not complain about the latest models, and even in Cupertino they say that they have corrected the ailment.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Nevertheless, MacBooks are primarily about mobility. I also once chose between a MacBook Pro 15 "and an iMac. I chose a laptop because I needed more mobility.
Hence my advice to you: if mobility is useless, then take an iMac. If you still need mobility, then MacBook Pro. And, as you already wrote, you are a designer, so iMac is better because of the display
inches.I
will add.I did not immediately catch part of your text, namely: "so put a bunch of Pro's and your 27" monitor ". It all depends on the monitor. If it's expensive, very high quality and all that, then it's best to take a MacBook Pro. In this case, the iMac looks somehow superfluous and inefficient.
Ha, I also struggled with this task ... I am completely satisfied with the 13'' MacBookPro + good monitor. Definitely, you can’t take an iMac with you on a trip, and there is a mood in bed to work while lying down. The biggest disadvantage is how Photoshop shows pictures on the Retina display, you have to get used to the fact that everything is getting smaller. From personal experience: do not save on an adapter to an external monitor (Lightning to DVI), take only the original Apple, because the Chinese either work somehow, or they do not allow the resolution to be set to normal (2560x1440 and no longer support).
Even if you don’t need mobility right now, is there a small chance that you won’t need it in the near future?
Most likely, with a MacBook, it will be convenient for you to take it with you and show, for example, a presentation somewhere or even meet someone in a cafe and show layouts, you can’t take an iMac with you, unless of course there is another laptop
I have an iMac Late 2013 at home and I took it only because a very good monitor is immediately attached to the hardware.
If I had a good monitor, I would take a macbook.
Mac noticeably lacks ssd and another + 8GB of RAM (at least), but in general it copes with its tasks.
So if the macbook wins in terms of hardware and there is a decent monitor, then I don’t understand what the question is at all :)
