Choosing an online HTML WYSIWYG editor

Requirements for a WYSIWYG editor embedded on the site have been formed, but I just can’t find a suitable one:

  1. The form of the applause and the insertion of pictures (I write the server part myself essesno)
  2. Inserting a video (and it should be simple enough for the user to insert the video himself, so the insert form in Innova, for example, is not suitable)
  3. cut button
  4. Correct work in browsers IE 7-8, Opera, Firefox, Chrome (for example, the Editor from Imperavi from version 6.0 meets the requirements, but is terribly buggy in IE 8)
  5. Preferably free, but you can consider paid options

The remaining requirements, such as the presence of text selection buttons, lists, etc., are in all editors, so I don’t mention them.

Advise plz.

Dreamweaver can be called a universal giant, embed videos, etc. simple enough. It is quite suitable for a novice user.
But it is, of course, paid and quite resource-intensive.

tinymce is a versatile and powerful WYSIWYG editor. If you are not confused by its size and, accordingly, the download speed. Then choose it. There are plugins for uploading pictures and videos, I used them myself. You can customize almost anything.

You can try to take tinymce as the basis, there are all sorts of plugins for it. in extreme cases - to find someone who finishes it.

TinyMCE (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/)
Examples: tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/full.php
> cut button (copy and paste)
Won't work for all WYSIWYG editors by default (requires additional user input )
> Applod form and inserting pictures
There are paid plugins:
* MCImageManager
* MCFileManager
Pros:
+ good documentation
+ very easy to create your own plugins (buttons, commands, etc.)
+ you can create styles
+ in the latest versions, all formatting bypasses the standard browser commands, i.e. you can assign the desired design for all styles (bold, italic, etc.)

I usually put “normal copy-paste from Word” in the first place in the requirements.
Now in production I use tinymce, but I look at elrte.org/en/

We use https://n1ed.com
on our project. It is a very powerful thing, and at the same time fast. Does exactly what is described in your requirements. If something is missing, then you can write your own plugin for it.
