Choosing an engine for an online store selling software
The task was to choose an engine for an online store selling games and software.
I plan to do the following functionality:
1. Adding a product to the showcase (in the admin panel I prescribe a license key for each product)
2. Buying a product by a client, using only an email address as registration and paying with a visa, PayPal, or Webmoney.
3. Upon successful purchase, the client receives an email with an activation key.
4.…
5 PROFIT!
The question is if someone has already encountered a similar problem and can point in the direction of a specific engine where all this is or is but with modules for an additional fee, which is also acceptable.
I will be grateful for any answer.
Thank you.

OpenCart knows how to sell digital goods. The engine is free, there are free mountain templates, payment modules are also available.
Toli due to the fact that the official website of Magento had some kind of temporary prevention, or because the stars indicated so, but after an unsuccessful attempt to download Magento, I installed OpenCart and so far I am completely satisfied.
The solution with the keys was decided by the module - it is certainly not cheap - 70 Baku, but it works.
There are a lot of solutions with a simplified checkout, they also cost money. But again, it's probably worth it. It's better than hiring a coder.
It seemed to me that there were more high-quality themes and templates for Prestashop, but I still found a suitable one for myself.
Thanks everyone for the advice, you helped me a lot.
Good day.
You can modify a little (maybe the word “configure” will be more correct) HostCMS and we will be happy for you.
The online store is available on the free version of the system.
You just need to add an additional property to the products (license key), which is retrieved by the XSL template when sending an email (which is basically ready).
Everything is detailed in the documentation.
Magento. Product types such as Virtual Product and Downlodable Product work out of the box. In the first case, the product can be organized as virtual without choosing delivery methods, etc. Downlodable Product - a product that allows you to download a file (which may contain a license key) after purchasing it. You can customize in any case.
There is such a directory - www.cmslist.ru
You can choose it according to your requirements.
+1 for Magento. We have been using for our store of scripts (extensions for the same Magento) for the last few months, the flight is normal.
It really was easier for us, because for clients we have been doing projects with this system for a long time and adding something is not a problem.
A big plus of Magenta is rich functionality out of the box. For example, there are discount coupons (for a certain product, when a certain amount is reached in the basket, with a limit on time and number of uses, and a lot of other options - very flexible settings). Integration with Google Analytics e-commerce tracking also works out of the box.
Try ImageCMS.
There is a free open source version for ImageCMS Corporate corporate portals and a paid version for ImageCMS Shop online stores .
You can try Spree Commerce . I'm not sure about ready-made solutions for your task, but if you have an adequate programmer, it will be easy to implement the desired functionality. Personally, I would take something the simplest in Python and add the necessary functionality, but there is no full-fledged solution like Spree Commerce in Python, unfortunately.
I would categorically not recommend Magento, I suffered with it at one time, it's a horror to customize it, and God forbid you have to add something ... PHP has only one worthy product - www.interspire.com/shoppingcart/compare.php but it is commercial.
And so it all depends on:
1. Is there already a hosting, maybe you need a solution in PHP;
2. How much you need to customize (theme and so on), this is not always an easy task, especially with a solution like Magento;
3. What skills do you have, what have you already worked with.
Good luck!
PS I am not a Magento hater, if something has changed for the better in it over the past two years, then I am sincerely happy for all its users!
