Choosing a monitor for work - hertz (144hrz + 2k) or 4k?

Anyone have experience using both and advice? How big is the difference in smoothness?
Laptop - macbook pro 13 m1.
I have not used external monitors for a long time, but the transition to 13" was given and so difficult (half a year already on it after 15"). I want to buy a monitor.
I used to use NEC 2 * (1920 * 1200) on IPS 24 ", but that was 14 years ago, and monitors then cost a lot.
Now I'm looking at one 27-32, mainly for work (texts, coding. Sometimes video editing, but to paint I can and on the screen of the laptop), the budget is up to 30k

I have a 4K model LG 27UL850W, although for work it would be necessary to increase it (for example, up to 32 "). And the frequency and working will come down, I'm not fond of toys.
