Choosing a lightweight performance laptop?

I am looking for a laptop that is light enough (up to 1.5 kg) and durable (in terms of resistance to constant wear), but productive for a familiar director who writes code from time to time. The price range is up to $ 2000, it will be bought in uk \ us, because we have the same devices one and a half times more expensive.
Comparing existing models and those that are about to be released, I have looked at
Sony VAIO VPC-Z13 * - 1.38 kg, core i5-i7, 8gb ram, 2 SSDs in raid0 (does anyone know what they are compared to intel 320? is it worth replacing on another one? ), carbon case, 1600x900 LED screen, NVIDIA GT 330M(1GB RAM personal)
Samsung 9 Series - 1.3 kg, Core i5-i7, 8gb ram, one solid state drive (it's also unclear which one...), duralumin case , 1366x768 LED, Intel HD 3000
and lastmacbook air - 1.32 kg, Core 2 Duo, ssd, as usual, of unknown origin, aluminum case. 1440x900, NVIDIA 320M(256MB ram shared with system).
Macbook is a third cheaper than the previous two, but also weaker in processor and video card.
Nothing is clear about the ssds used - the size is not the main parameter, at least the read-write speed would be found.
Maybe someone recently solved a similar problem or met an sensible comparison? or can still offer another sensible model?

As a result, x220 was taken with corei7 and ips. A crucial m4 ssd, intel 6250 wifi-wimax and 8 gigs of 1600MHz RAM are added there.

Take the brutal previous lenovo x201 or the new x220. You can take cute lenovo u260. And so, the dell vostro 3350 is about to be released and there is already a dell latitude e6320.
Further pure IMHO: It is better to take the processor i5-2520M, but the memory and the screw are at a minimum, and only then finish off with the manually purchased memory and ssd (intel series 510).
I myself recently thought about buying something small, but in the end I paid for a lenovo t420, but there was a jamb in paying through amazon - so for now everything is in a hung state, maybe I’ll take something else.

Sony VAIO VPC-Z13 is out of competition in this case. as much as 2 SSDs and decent video, although autonomy may suffer if it does not support nvidia optimus.

At the very VAIO Z series (although the previous generation VGN-Z)
A couple of stones in his garden:
1) By contacting Sony, you doom yourself to eternally outdated video drivers. For you will not be able to download drivers for NVIDIA GT 330M, but you will have to wait for Sony to make their special hybrid version for Vayo.
2) I don’t know if this problem was solved or not (they just didn’t solve it for several generations), but the Z-ok has a jamb that, due to the very flexible monitor cover, while wearing it, it bends and scratches the screen on the buttons and touchpad. As a result, we have a display with wear. I carry a laptop every day with a cloth between the keyboard and the screen in a separate bag, where there is no trash. And it still doesn't work 100%

I have a VPCZ12V9R wound up to the ceiling with 4xSSD (there are 2 doubled in RAID0 - the controller is locked to 1 and 0, although in fact it can also 5 and 10, but I could not activate them even through FreeBSD) and FullHD, 3G, GPS and Wimax.
Video works absolutely without problems in reduced performance mode (Stamina). Speed and Auto mode did not turn on even once.
Everything flies. If you put American firewood, then GPS also appears.
The machine will not cause any problems for a person who needs to work. Lightweight, productive, keeps the battery normally (I would like more, of course).
I also made a choice between Sony and Macbook Air, but I took Sonya, because there is everything and even more, and in our business the main thing is mobility and the ability to be online in any village, even in the Caucasus.
Another huge plus, IMHO, is the backlighting of the keys. In Macs, it was removed, but in Sony it really helps in the dark.
You can put a second disk in place of the CD - there is an option.
It doesn't get hot.
Take it, you won't regret it. If there was still a mako price on it, he wouldn’t have it, but it’s not bad on 7k either.

My wife was very pleased with the Dell v13, bought because of the inability to find the v130 for the moment of purchase. v130 is also on core i5, look, maybe it will look to you, and there it will already be possible to clarify the availability.
ZY: in fact, v13 is just shit, except for the case there is nothing good in it, even the software and that the manufacturers report :( And v130 is better, and everything is in order with the software and with the stuffing.
