A laptop for a game developer?

Help is needed very urgently!
During the day, you need to choose a laptop for programming. I'm applying for a programmer, I want to get involved in game development. I really want to buy a macbook 16 (16 about operatives, i7 9th generation, 4 GB of video memory and 512 ssd). Is it worth it?

Besides that, I like to play games. The language in which we will study at the university is c++. Or is it better to buy something else?
I live in Moscow. Amount up to 170k rubles.

If you are a fan of apple infrastructure, the MacBook will be a good purchase. High-quality hardware, excellent screen, power, some flavor of Linux ..
If you often have to carry it to the university, look at smaller and lighter models, but this is how you feel more comfortable.
As for Windows machines, an interesting model HP Zbook Firefly G7 has recently been released in 14" and 15" versions. Take a look, you'll like it. Also good build quality, power, etc. But Windows.

Well, it depends on what exactly you want, as a thing in terms of stupidly writing code, the poppy is certainly good, but as for me it's not worth it. If you plan to go into game development, get ready that this will not be enough for you. In fact, doing a game on a laptop is such a thing, since game engines consume decently, and also do not forget that you will have to use other software, so 16 gigs of RAM on a poppy is nothing. For the money you have, I would give advice to assemble a stationary one, but as I understand it, you need a laptop to go to university, so if you have 170k, then it’s better to take a good laptop with hardware better than a poppy and even this laptop. There are many and cheaper choices, literally not so long ago I saw a laptop with 32 gigs of RAM and a 20-series video card for 60-70k, so first of all you should not follow popularity, but what you want in the future. So I would give you advice for the same 100k to assemble a good home PC at home, and buy a laptop to work at the university and in code. I can explain why. If you work in the same anril in the future or in another engine, then you will have to work simultaneously in the engine with the code and possibly with models that consume RAM and load the percent with the video card mom don’t worry, so the laptop will simply die over time if it doesn’t burn out as a result, for this, inpatients with protection and even average ones are more stable for this. I have a system with 32GB of RAM sometimes goes to the peak, and for a friend with a 2080 like a card and 72 gigs of RAM, when baking a card, it can barely squeeze out so as not to end up leaving. So look at your needs and what you plan to do in the future I can explain why. If you love and plan to play games, then Windows is better. Because almost all PC games are for Windows, and only a few (of them) are for Mac.
At the moment (2020), the players are divided as follows :
1) Windows - 96%
2) Mac - 3%
3) Linux - 1%
Obviously, you also need to create a game primarily for Windows, because almost the entire audience sits on it. Forgive me fans of other OS. But facts are facts, alas.
Of course, hardly anyone will choose a laptop for you. The only thing I advise is to focus on the RAM. Minimum 16 GB More is better. Well, on the video card, of course, but this is understandable. Further, for each model, read the reviews, because everything can have flaws. It’s just that some shortcomings may not suit you, but for others specifically you will not care.
PS Rubricator (on the right, choose the characteristics, filter, ask the price).
